Brain Training Exercises You Can Do Today

What can you do to improve your brain without brain exercises?

For those of you unwilling to fork out a couple hundred bucks for brain training exercises, here are some activities you can partake in to improve brain fitness.

  1. One of the most effective ways stimulate neuron growth is undoubtedly learning new languages. Language is one of the most complex subjects you have to learn in life and it is thus a great way to challenge your brain. The more your brain is challenged, the more it will grow – and I do mean physically. This, of course, counteracts the effects of aging and the death or neurons.
  2. If you’re an introvert person, increase your social interaction. The most complex activity you’ll undertake in this life has nothing to do with rocket science or quantum physics – it’s interacting with other humans. This is because humans are one the last things that other humans cannot predict. There are also the cultural, legal and a whole slew of other rules you must adhere to when interacting with fellow human beings. You may not be thinking about these consciously but your brain is certainly working overtime to process them. Social interaction is good for your mental health.
  3. This one may not stimulate new neuron growth but it will certainly very effectively prolong their life. Believe it or not, getting to an open space and out of the crowd is immensely beneficial to your mental health.
  4. Last but not least, listen to baroque music. I wish I could say the same for rock music but the science suggested otherwise. So profound is the effect of music on your psyche and cognitive skills that neuroscientists have a name for it: The Mozart Effect.
