Why you should perform brain exercises

Do you know your muscle will fade if you do nothing?

What would you do if you want to build your body?

Most people would say to exercise but that answer is, in fact, not quite accurate. To build your body, you’ll have to carry weights beyond what you’re comfortable with. Sensing the challenges presented by the environment, your body then adapts by growing your muscles.

This is the same for any kind of improvements your body go through. A challenge has to be presented for it to grow.

What if we live in a world with no challenge?

In fact, no matter where you are on Earth, you’ll be presented a physical challenge. It’s called Gravity. Gravity constantly pull you down – thus for you to stand, your muscles have to exert a force greater than that of the gravity.

Can you imagine what would happen if we live in a world without gravity?

That was the question a group of scientists asked themselves a few decades ago. They decided to put a number of astronauts into a gravity-free zone and monitor the changes their body goes through. What they expected is this: because the body did not face any challenges, it thus will not age. The astronauts would reverse the aging process as the body repairs itself.

What happened shocked them! The astronauts became frail and they looked as if they’ve aged a couple of decades when only a few weeks have passed!

The case for brain exercises

By doing nothing, you’re not staying constant. You’re, in fact, declining. Your muscles fade and your brain do decline.

Fortunately, there’s an easy way to reverse the process. Simply challenge your brain on a daily basis. There have been cases of centenarians (people who are 100 years or older) who possesses brains more than 3 decades younger.

Modern neurology have found that your brain do, in fact, change and adapts (physically) with the challenges presented.

Here are something that you can do to reverse your brain age:

  1. Learn a new language. We all know it’s tough, and that’s why it’s beneficial for your mental health.
  2. Perform brain exercises. Brain exercises are specifically designed to challenge various functions of your brain so that you don’t improve just one aspect, but all aspects of it.
